🎨🎨 Making Canopic Jars in Primary 5WS 🎨🎨

16th Dec 2022

In The World Around Us we have been learning all about the Ancient Egyptians and how they stored a dead person’s organs inside canopic jars for the afterlife.

Today Miss Service gave us clay and allowed us each to design and make our own canopic jar. We were surprised at how cold the clay felt in our hands!

We learned how to use a little water on our fingers to smooth out the surface of our jars and used a range of different clay tools to make marks and decorate them before leaving them to dry.

We had so much fun and can’t wait for them to harden so that we can paint them!
