πŸ‘ΈπŸ» Jubilee celebrations in Primary 5WS πŸ‘ΈπŸ»

31st May 2022

Today we had the best day ever in school!

We were celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and boy did we do it in style! We all came to school, looking very smart, dressed in our best red, white and blue clothing. Before break we went outside to take a look at all the Jubilee garden boxes that each class had made. The Primary 3 box was our favourite!

In class we all got the chance to design a crown to wear to our special Jubilee Tea Party lunch - which was served in a special Union Jack box! It was delicious!

We watched some short videos that helped us to learn lots of interesting facts about the Queen and her Jubilee. Did you know that the Queen got her first house when she was only six or that she supports Arsenal?

After lunch the Mayor visited school to help plant our special Jubilee tree in the corner of our play-park and to cut the beautiful cake that Sandra, our cook, had baked for the occasion . The Mayor was very kind - signing our Union Jack flags and leaving a badge for everyone in our class.

We also had a visit from the ice cream van and there were special Jubilee ice creams, with red and blue sauce, for everyone. The cafeteria also gave us all a piece of yummy cake. We were all full to the brim so we went outside again for some exercise in the form of a special a Jubilee treasure hunt. There were lots of coins to find, hidden around the school.

Mrs McMaster bought everyone a Union Jack flag, a special Jubilee medal and a little Union Jack chocolate which we got to take home. Wasn’t that kind? If you look on the back of the medal you will see that it was specially engraved for our class!

If only all school days were like today!!!!!
