🌱🌿🌳 Eco Day in Primary 5WS 🌳🌿🌱

28th Apr 2023

Today was Eco Day in school.

We all came to school wearing green clothes. Didn’t we all look well! Lacie, Tatiana and Madison won the class prizes for the best green outfits.

In the morning we went to the greenhouse where Emily and Holly, from the Eco Committee,  showed us how to sow a sunflower seed. Then we all had a turn to sow a seed which we will get to take home and look after. We also went to the play-park and had a run around.

After break time we did some Eco related activities. We had a ‘Wear green, be green’ crossword and colouring sheet to complete. We really enjoyed doing them! Then we went outside to do some activities with Holly and Emily. They took us to see the hedgehog house and the pond, where we saw some tadpoles. We also went on a forage for natural materials to use in an activity after lunchtime. To finish off this session we went on a bug hunt. We found beetles, spiders and centipedes!

In the afternoon we used our foraged materials to make some pretty nature circles. Why not take a look below and see which one you like best? To round off a super Eco Day 2023 we went to the front of the school and decorated our plant boxes. We decorated one with a coronation theme and the other with an Eco theme. We hope that you like them both!

What a very busy but fantastic day we had. We are all going home for a well earned rest over the Bank Holiday weekend!
